Hello,

Thank you for signing up for the very first industry night at Proper! Attached below are the set times. Please read this and respond via email to confirm your set times. My email address is Jeff@htg-events.com. My goal is to create a safe space DJs and artist to come together and collaborate in a nightclub setting. What is cooler than a badass soundsystem and a bunch of music? Over the past 25 years I have curated a lot of big concerts and festivals, but I have always struggled with local programming. The brand 15 minutes of fame has been a beacon of light in the foggy mess of politics and gatekeeping in the music industry. My goal is to discover artists I have not worked with previously, finding new talent, and even help hone those that 'think they know it all' (don't we all?).

So here is how it works. I want you to check at the DJ booth 30 minutes before your scheduled time. There will be a printed schedule there. Just put your initials next to your name so we know you are there. If you are not checked in 15 minutes before your set you will be replaced with an alternate. Alternates make sure you are there for your set. I can't tell you how many people got their 'big break' because they had their USB and our support DJ didn't show up. Please make sure you end your set and begin your set exactly on time. We are going to try letting the DJs do this on their own. If the DJ after you does not show up and a backup is not there you may continue to play the next time slot.

The DJ kit will be an a9 and 2x CDJ3000s. They are in pretty good shape. We want to keep it that way. No drinks in the booth. Be nice to the clubs gear. No computers, No additional gear, bring a USB with your music on it. Know ahead of time how to use the equipment. You are playing on the best sound system in Orlando. Danley Sound Labs SH50, DFA, and TH118XL. I have won awards for systems just like this. It is a really fun rig to hear your tracks on!

About the contest. The reason I am doing the contest is to encourage people to come and have fun. We want to encourage everyone to arrive early and stay the entire night. So the contest is built to help with this. I think it would be really cool to do this every month with different prizes. So help us make this work. Arrive early, Stay Late. Do what you can to help make this a fun night with an eclectic music score! The prize will be selected by a raffle ticket drawing. The earlier you arrive the more raffle tickets you get. At 12:30-1 sometime we will pull the winner and give away a pair of Pioneer DJ speakers worth $1500!

Please help make this night succesful. Tell your peers and friends about it. Help us push the night. It costs thousands of dollars to advertise and we simply can't do that AND give away dope prizes. So "helping promote" as cliche as it is.. is really how you make this work for everyone. You can point people to our facebook page or website to purchase tickets ahead of time. Propers capacity is only 100 people - so we should easily be able to sell this out. If you want a chance to win the prize you must purchase a ticket. Yes even if you are playing. It is the only way we can give out such fantastic prizes.
